BIG MAC'S starts with Uso

Big Mac's K9 Rescue was officially started in July of 2023 however we have been rescuing animals for several years.  We are dedicated to rescuing  working dogs from being euthanized in the pounds and shelters and really focusing on getting the babies that are days and even seconds (true story) away from being put down.  We are focused on rescuing, training and rehabilitating these fur missiles.  

Being the dog lovers that we are, we sometimes go to the shelters to play with some of the dogs and cats just to give them some play time and so other potential pet parents can see them and maybe want to take them home.  We all know that these pups are typically much better outside of their holding cells.  We discovered that there has been an influx of German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds due to people watching movies such as "Dog" and wanting a "police dog."  When those who purchased or adopted these dogs realize how much work, training and sometimes crazy these guys are, they end up in the pound, many to never even see the  adoption floor!   Hearing this from insiders at the pound and having law enforcement backgrounds, we immediately started thinking about how to do more and start saving these amazing babies.  

Uso is our first official foster dog.  He was turned into the Miami Dade pound on 7/1 as a stray and was scheduled to be put down on 7/26, the day before we found out about him.   We put a hold on him and got him home 2 days later, of course with lots of calls making sure he was safe and that they knew he was ours.  We have since officially adopted USO, since he is a loving yet can be difficult, so we want to make sure he remains safe. In the meantime, more fur babies have come to our door and we have been able to rehome them to families that understand the breed and patience these special babies need.  The reward for saving these guys is unexplainable.
